The
Best Resources for Nurses
Below
is a list of the best resources I've found for clinical
nurses. I've asked hundreds of nurses what resources they've
found to be most helpful and combined their recommendations
with my own. So, here is the list ...enjoy! - DW
The
ICU Book is the best general ICU reference I've found.
Some nurses don't like the lack of nursing implications,
but it is complete for disease management and procedures.
A
great basic reference for Med-Surg nurses, Medical-Surgical
Nursing Made Incredibly Easy is well-written and illustrated
to make finding information easy!
The
name implies that this journal may be aimed at new
nurses, but it is not. If you've ever had difficulty
understanding complex topics like ARDS or SIADH, this
journal is the one. Content is timely, research-based,
and presented in a manner that is easily understandable
with lots of pictures and graphics. Great for the
visual learner. It is designed to make learning fun!

Sites:
Medscape.com.
Medscape is the largest portal of medical information
on the internet that is focused on professionals. Lots
of great stuff here ...maybe too much. I subscribe to
their newsletter. That way, they send me an update weekly
so I don't have to remember to visit their site as often.
It's easy to do, simply click on the "newsletter"
tab at the top and select the newsletter(s) you want.
Be careful, these things are long! Try one newsletter
at a time to avoid being overwhelmed.

Updates:

Even contains medical calculators. The best overall nursing
