Review Books
A great way to start now in preparing -- no matter where you are in your studies. A great strategy is to get a review book and review the questions and sections that correspond with your course work. You will be able to highlight areas in your notes that you will want to go back over when NCLEX time comes.

Popular among students, the Kaplan Review Book has a proven track record. The book is mostly text, with few pictures, but it's still easy to find the information you need. Lots of practice questions with explanations, and it comes with a CD so you can practice the test on your computer. This is not a pathophysiology review! The Kaplan book is designed to help you learn how the test works, if you want a review of disease processes, take a review class or check out the Incredibly Easy book. |
| This is my clear favorite and recommendation: The NCLEX-RN Review Made Incredibly Easy. Well-organized and comprehensive the Made Incredibly Easy book has reviews of pathophysiology, medications, treatments, and test-taking skills. Includes many practice questions along with a CD with more than 1000 questions that you can practice on your computer. |

A nice addition to one of the other books, the New Format book addresses the issues faced with multiple answer and fill-in-the-blank questions. |
Review courses
Take one! Review courses are a synopsis of all the material you've learned in the past few years and will help you integrate it all.
|
Thousands of locations and a proven track record make this review course a favorite among students. They offer classroom instruction, a review book, computer question practice, and additional on-line resources too. If you really want to pass on the first attempt, you've got to take one of these! Of course, their guarantee that you will pass doesn't hurt either. |
Study
You are preparing to take a test, and the best way to practice for a test is to take tests. Get a review book and practice the questions; take a review class and learn how to use the information. There are no shortcuts! You will reap the consequences of your dedication and effort. And no study is ever wasted, you will use the knowledge in your career, even if it is not tested on in the NCLEX.
