    Love the Future

    Monday, November 20, 2006

The future of nursing lies in the hands of our current nursing students.  Sure, there are actions that you can take today that will have long range effects on the profession; but our nursing students are our future (and possibly our caregivers).

What are you doing to encourage our next generation?  It has long been said that nurses "eat their young."  Are you providing a positive example for our students, or are you unhappy with their preparation and discouraging about their future?

To make healthcare what we want it to be in the future, we all need to encourage and support our students; and you can do your part, starting today.  Practice a little more patience, give a little of your time, and become a role model that students will want to model.  Support our students -- they are our future!
